An important element of Nisei Week is the crowning of the new Queen.Each year, the Nisei Week Japanese Festival draws its Queen candidates from participating community organizations. The organizations carefully screen and select the candidate to represent their community, one of whom will become the next Nisei Week Queen. The Queens responsibilities have grown as her presence is required at festivals across the U.S. and Internationally.
